|About the Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS)
Welcome to U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS). CSMS is one of CBP's methods for communicating to our trade partners news and updates on our automated systems - namely the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).
CBP's Trade Transformation Office has upgraded the legacy CSMS system to a new technology platform. The transition provides a more dependable messaging service for the trade community. The new platform provides other added benefits as well (e.g., elimination of duplicative messages, improved message formatting, ability to include hyperlinks, etc.). To access messages issued through the new CSMS platform, please visit the New CSMS Page.
On September 1, 2020, CBP will complete the full decommission of the legacy CSMS application, and this webpage will be retired. Going forward, please continue to use the New CSMS Page, where users can find a real-time feed containing the last 100 messages and the New CSMS Archive, which includes messages from 2011 to present.
In preparation for decommissioning this webpage, CBP has created a downloadable archive of all CSMS messages and attachments issued through the legacy CSMS system, which includes all messages prior to 2011 (e.g., January 1992 to June 2019) and is available at the following link
Legacy CSMS Archive Files
The legacy CSMS archive files will be available for download until September 1, 2020. If access to these files is needed after that time, users should contact their CBP Client Representative.
